We collect scrap metal from homes, building sites and commercial premises across Sydney. Metal is one of the few materials that recycles almost indefinitely without losing quality, so a scrap load genuinely stays out of landfill. We take it as its own load or separate it out of a mixed clear-out.
What Counts as Scrap
Metal splits into two groups, and the difference matters to what happens after collection.
Ferrous metal — steel and iron, the magnetic ones. Old fencing, gates, steel framing, roofing sheets, bed frames, filing cabinets, washing machine and dryer casings, garden tools, car parts.
Non-ferrous metal — copper, aluminium, brass, lead, stainless. Copper pipe and wiring, aluminium window frames, guttering, radiators, brass fittings, stainless benches and sinks.
Both are recycled, and both are worth keeping out of a general rubbish load. If you have a decent quantity of clean non-ferrous metal in particular, mention it when you book.
Where Scrap Comes From
Renovations and strip-outs
Old guttering, downpipes, copper pipe, steel framing, window frames and roofing sheets.
Sheds, garages and yards
Fencing, gates, star pickets, old tools, bike frames, engine parts and the pile behind the shed.
Whitegoods and appliances
Washing machines, dryers, dishwashers, ovens and fridges are largely metal once the recyclable components are separated.
Commercial and industrial
Racking, shelving, machinery frames, conduit, cable and offcuts from a warehouse or factory clearance.
How It Works
Scrap collection is straightforward. Tell us what you have got and roughly how much, and we will book a time and take it away. Metal is separated from any general waste in the load and goes to a metal recycler rather than a transfer station.
Where a job is mostly clean metal in reasonable quantity, that affects the quote in your favour compared to the same volume of general rubbish — the material has recovery value and does not carry tip fees in the same way.
